Alina Collins Maldonado
I am a bilingual (Spanish and English) theater educator dedicated to helping artists develop their craft, build confidence, and explore self-expression through theater. Beyond skill-building, I also empower artists to create and produce their own original work. I design engaging programs and workshops with a focus on supporting all students, especially from ESOL classes and diverse cultural backgrounds.
As the former Director of GALA Hispanic Theatre’s Paso Nuevo Youth Program, I fostered opportunities for young people to develop their unique artistic voices. During my time there, the program was invited to The White House twice by First Lady Michelle Obama in recognition of its outstanding arts programming for youth in Washington, DC.
I collaborate with esteemed organizations including Imagination Stage, KIND Inc. (Kids In Need of Defense), the Latin American Youth Center, Young Playwrights Theater, and Shakespeare Theatre Company, continuing to inspire creativity and champion artistic growth across communities.
